tada! here's my new layout. supposed to put it up month month and one day ago, which was my birthday. apparently i was too lazy to do so.
i'm quite pleased with my dorian gray final piece. i'm good at last minute work. keejan was commenting on all the exhibits in the espace and said that it was good. :):):):):):) so much so for my last minute work which only lasted about two to three hours. see i told you i was good at it. yay. i'm fast and efficient! hee.
oh yes. one important thing. my school hols are coming in one week and 5 days. yay! think i should be going out with marya and heis. yayayayayayayayyaay! miss you guys man. and all the time when we had sf and we burped together and shared a plate of 30 cents rice and a cup of twenty cents soya bean drink. i miss our punctuality thingy that we always practiced whenever we go for pe or go to the hall for assembly. how we also had to arrive at the pe venue first before the e3 girls. how we changed dorothys' water and when they jumped out of the tank we all screamed. how we got water from the taps beside the toilet bowls. how we buried the many dead fishes at the courtyard beside our class with a proper grave and a cross. how we always managed to do other things beside english stuff during english period with getting caught despite us sitting in the front. how we always managed to eat and drink sweet drink in class without getting caught as well. how we ate papaya and drank melon milk to improve our bowel movements. how we once bathed in school after pe in sec3. and as a class how we were the only sec 4 class who got chased out of our air conditioned classroom to the spoilt dusty classroom opposite. at least we got to return to our beloved classroom. or maybe not exactly a classroom, more of the multi resource room change classroom. how we always got scolded by lifty and shifty, mr kam and mr lim respectively, for always loosing keys or breaking them.
sigh.. it's has alll long been over. it was fun. but it's time we move on, for greater things are expected to be on it's way. okay. i shall end her for now. time to do research for paintings and photographs. till next time..

today has been a good day. at least i managed to print my research and do some sketches for my creative thinking class. my presentation was during keejan's class on mon was kns. all i did were two hurried and ugly sketches while the rest were presenting. they looked terrible. but who cares cos i'm going to prove to mr chongkeejan that i can do much more and i'm hardworking and i've got a INITIATIVE, or initiatiff, as mr loo pronunces it. i've changed my theme from acidified to burning. sort of got inspiration from revelations. the lake of fire and burning sulphur and stuff. i think colour scheme will be black and red. maybe some yellow and orange here and there. however i havent really confirmed the background. this tuesday i got back my marketing class activity assignment and got quite good feedback. must thank god cos i really didnt know what to write and was the last one to hand the paper in. also, coupled with the fact that it's my first time learning marketing and havent gotten the hang of it. like the right words to write and things like that. on the first week of school i was speaking to jop and he said that it took time to get the hang of the subject. fortunately i rough got some idea of the entire thing. and at least i dont feel sad when i dont really understand the theories. so now i'm quite encouraged. thanks jop. and thank god. :) i hope valentino would extend the deadline for our colour assignment which is due this coming wed. you see, we've to use ten different mediums and paint two colours of each medium on ivory card. ivory card is somehting like drawing block, but only smoother. then we've to cover half the coloured portion with black paper and place the whole thing under the sun for 5 days. today's sat and the weather for the past three days havent been good. luckily i was smart ebough to put the paper in the attic where there're two transparent roof tiles which allow sunlight in, without getting the paper wet in any case it rains. my brilliance. oh ya. i cant believe that celest's leaving for aust tmr to study. okay. not tomorrow. since it's already 12 plus, it's today! oh my. oh my. please ask me why i'm blogging at this time of the day. by right it's suppposed to be sleeping time, but since i havent completed my homework, i'm supposed to do it now. maybe i'll write my rationale for my dorian gray thing. bye!

last night was the second best night i had since i started school. met sher at toapayoh for dinner, then walked around the pasar malam and talked and walked and talked and walked. though we didnt do much, it was nice. i always enjoyed such one to one talks with people. talking to many people at a time, as in like in a group, seems very superficial. got to know her more in a personal level, which i think is important. i'm grateful for her in my life. oh and we both hurt or middle finger. there must be something about the middle finger:)
by the way, my middle finger explains my nick. i cut it with a pair of brand new sewing scissors. it's those kind of small but super terribly painful cuts. :(
i'm super exhausted. had been having a flu for two weeks. at least i managed to finish my 85 sketches for typography, 2 sketches for creative thinking, 1000 word essay for marketing, A3 collage and a3 shading, and colour scheme for colour, process and cut two rolls of film, 750 word report for basic photography, one perspective room drawing for drawing fund done. sigh. and i havent completed the work that's due tomorrow. sighh. thank god for energy to complete all the assignments and projects.
i realised that i only blog on thursdays. it's cos i finish school the earliest on thursdays, which is at 3. today we did photo printing in the dark room using the enlargers. it was a lot more easier than i though it was. when kheng li was explaining, the whole class was like huh? what talking you? catch no ball. but when he demostrated to us in the dark room, we understood it better. actually there's nothing much to understand. we just basically know the procedures. so for homework today, we've to to one photogram/photokram, two contact sheets and two indentical prints. photograms are pictures formed on photopaper without using a camera. technically, it's exposing the photopaper to light, with opaque and translucent things on top. because photopaper is light sensative, the part that is exposed to light turns black. the image would turn out black and white with shades of gray, which is really nice :)
okay. i'm going to have a short power nap so that tonight i'd have the energy to do my work. yup. bye. have a nice day!!

today, for the first time, i processed film in the dark room. how cool can it be! in the photo studio, we were first taught how to remove the film strip from the casing and put it onto the reel. then we had to go next door to the dark room to wind the film strip out and then put it into the tank. the adding of chemicals consosts of five steps. the developer, the stop bath, fixer, hypo clear, and lastly, photo flo. the fixer smells like shit but thank God i'm having a runny nose so i couldnt smell a thing. the process was quite troublesome as the ratio of the amount of chemical to that of water must be 1:4. also, the solution must be twenty degrees celcius. what made it sickening was that the temperature of my solution kept staying at 10 degrees cos the room was cold. so elizabeth and i ended up using our hands to warm it. but it took super long. finally it reached 17 degrees and we decided to pour it into the tank.
today, for the first time in my life, i wasted so much water. you see, after the hypo clear, we had to run water and overflow the container for 5 minutes. 5 whole minutes! it may not seem like a very long time, but it's a lot of water!
finally after an hour or so, i finished processing my film. although wee said that it wasnt well processed cos of some blurred spots, at least i dont have to waste another trip back to little india to snap. yup. what an interesting day man! now my runny nose is clearing and i think my hands smells like fixer. darn. it smells like rotten eggs, or fart, or whatever. you name it. heh.
oh yes. i cant wait for sat to come! we're finally collecting our cell shirts! after so long. yup. and on sun there's a cell outing and bbq in the evening! yay! okay. i better get going now. still have an A2 and A3 drawing to complete. bye!

before i start saying anything, i shall first wish JOEY a very happy 13th birthday and CELESTINE a very happy 17th birthday. may God bless you all in the year ahead, and may it be a fruitful one too :)
i realised that the last time i blogged was last monday, which was one week ago. i've got many reasons for my disappearance, but the main reason is because of busyness. yesterday i just came back from a four day trip to kl. it was a refreshing experience. learnt many things and also met many spoil people. but actually mainly only one la. heh. but overall it wasnt as fun as last year's camp, cos kl is a superbly boring place. there's nothing to do besides shopping or lazing in the hotel room. however the shopping centres are terrible, so basically there's nothing to do in kl at all.
one the second day the girls and the only thorn, joshua, went to the amusement park at times square. i didnt go cos i had a stomach ache due to the over consumption of coke, and because of the good and responsible dl i was. haha. okay, maybe not. but how could i just let a bunch of sec 1s wonder off by themselves right. so you see? i'm responsible.
on the last day on the way back we went to putrajaya, which is the prime minister's office. we didnt exactly go into the building, but went to the place near the mosque. i would say it was picturesque, but i wont ever go there again, unless if i'm going there to talk to the prime minister. that is. did several candid shots of people, which turned out quite nice. :) sometimes i cannot really control my mouth when it comes to criticising people, so malaysians, if i offended you in any way, i'm sorry. but truely, sincerely and with all my honesty, Singapore, with the capital S, is the best.
then on the way back, we stopped for lunch at some restaurant [restorant]. the place was super xiang! and the best dish was the fruits. you should know what i mean right. heh.
yup. i'm off for now. got lots of eating to do now. bye!

i'm really bored. lecture ended one hour early. my typography lecturer talks all in one breath. just listening to her makes me feel breatheless already. -pants- she speaks without punctuation, for example: ok class today's i'm going to give you all two assignments the first one is the magazine cut one and the other one is the one where you have to use microsoft word of macromedia freeehand to design and layout and use fonts to write a short phrase of maybe say three to five words you can use say phrases from nursery rhymes or you can look into teenage magazines or herworld magazines or business magazines to look for those catch phrases and then you can type and design them on three seperate pieces of paper they can be very minute if the phrase goes like the tiny mouse or the font size can be very big when the phrase goes like the giant pea you can do whatever you want with it the font but the colour has to be black and white or if you like several shades of grey. whew! she talks like this the whole lesson and imagine how stressful it is just listening to her!! i wonder how she does it. this show that what sher was telling me some time ago is true- that women think all the time. even when she's talking, she's always thinking of what she's going to say next and hence, not pausing. maybe she makes a good opera singer where she has to hold her breath for a long time. but i dont think she sings in such a high pitch, so maybe she can sing the alto or mezzo soprano. heh. one of my classmates also said that she believes in the aura thing, and said that my classmate had good aura?!?!?! heh. maybe she has a crush on my classmate. okay. what i just said was fake [about the crush part]. by the way, those are not the actual words of my lecturer. :)
this week is going to be quite an exciting week cos i'm going to malaysia, truely asia. not the malaysia is a very exciting place whatsoever, in fact i find that it's quite a boring place. but the fact that i'm going with many friends makes it very fun. yup. we're going to kl, one of the most boring place in malaysia. at least the hotel's a walking distance from kl's shoppping district. oh yes.. since i'm goin there by car, i can bring my shitty along. yay!
by the way, i dont think malaysia is at all truely asia. like how asian can it be? what actually is the asian like? i dont think malaysia truely reflects the colour of asia. no offence to malays, but i think malaysia is more malay than anything else. almost everywhere you go, you see all malay stuff, like words written in malay, certain biasness against other races etc. dont forget that asia is a place which is rich in cultural diversity, with many many different races, ethnic groups and religions. i dont see all these everytime i go to malaysia, which is at least once every year. so how can they claim that they're truely asia? i think singapore than claim that more easily. once again, no offence to malays. just my one cents worth. :)
i am thus proud to be a singaporean. and i miss saying the pledge.
we, the citizen of singapore
pledge ourselves as one united people
regardless of race, language or religion
to build a democratic society
based on justice and equality
so as to achieve happiness, prosperity
and progress
for our nation
yup. what an incredible pledge.

i'm currently in typography class, waiting for the lecturer to start the lesson. i'm trying to use the macs, not macdonalds. i mean macintosh comps. we've already wasted 25minutes! this is perfect for a sleepy monday morning! it's a good way to wake up. that is, by not doing anything! haha. yay! now she's talking to the computer technicians because of some technical faults, i suppose. everyone's like surfing the net at the moment, doing their own stuffs, and of course, blogging, like me. isnt this good? surfing the net for free. hha. yay! lalalaaa. i actually have an urgent need to go the toilet. but i dont feel like moving my butt, cos i'm just too comfortable in my sit at the corner of the computer lab. okay. i got to go. she's calling us now. bye!

special thanks to GRACE HENG for remembering my birthday last week and messaging me a birthday message, although i didnt get it. but i appreciate the fact that you remembered!!! and grace, we're old!!! and i miss you too!!
yay i finally got my SLR camera.. it's a canon eos66, those where you've got to put the film in and view through the hole. i finally understood what mr wee taught on thursday, all the manual functions of the camera, and truely, it's more fun than using an automatic digital one. we get to choose the shutter speed, the aperture, and manually zoom and focus.and you can also choose the depth of field, which is the 'blurness' or 'clearness' of the pictures' background or foreground. today we're going to victoria memorial hall to test our camera. so exciting! but not only take pictures, we've got to go view a photo exhibition there and then write a report. i've got no idea how to start writing it, so if you've got any report writing skills, please let me know ya. thanks!
on the whole, school's better this week as compared to last week. the funnest lessons were colour, photography and drawing fundamentals. oh ya and my typography lecturer talks like a typewriter. it's like in one whole sentence and she seems to be talking to herself. haha. and no one understands her. one thing good about typo lessons is that we get to use brand new appleG5s. cool right. waiting for the laptop to come out. my creative thinking teacher's super sissy. and he sounded like a woman when he sang during the genesis talk. haha.okay. i better go mop the floor. bye!

whew! i sort of just came home from schoool. today's the first time i have homework. and that's a yay! of course i also have assignments that are due a few weeks later, but these are not considered homework. another thing to yay about is that we've finally made the cell shirt. this morning i met up with sherilyn at novena at eleven for lunch at the chicken rice shop near revenue house. it was not bad la. then went to graffiti to order the shirts. collecting on the 18th i think.. we didnt know that it didnt have to take a long time so we had lots of time to spare after that. and oh my goodness novena square is such a boring place. loitered arourd for a while, waiting for 1pm to come. bla bla bla. reached school at 2 plus. as usual, i was super sleepy and and super early for class. you see, my class starts at 3. i'm always the first to arrive!! talking about class, i totally dislike my timetable. all the afternoon classes [12-3 or 3-6] are terrible cos why? we cant really do much in the morning, and we cant really do much in the evening either. and i get all the 3-6 classes. what's worse is that we only go school for 3 hours and it's time to go home. it's a waste of time since i take one hour plus to get to school. monday is the worse day. i start school at 9, and the lesson ends at 12. the we have a 3 hour break and at 3, we have another lesson. somebody please tell me what to do during the 3 hours!!!! bleah.
