first time i'm blogging using this laptop. :) it's good la.good specs. at least i get to go online in the comfort of my bed, like now. haha. but it's not an APPLE POWERBOOK! time to save money. no more expensive food. no more real birkenstocks. time for sandwiches from home and cheaper sandals. but i love sandwiches from home, especially wholemeal breadwith blackcurrant jam and peanut butter. mmm! how lovely! talking about food i've been quite hungry lately, so much so that elizabeth called me a pig. haha.
tiring day today. shall not elaborate or it'll bore everyone. during cell we were all quite high because of the visa card advert.
girl: my brother is going on a journey. i want to bring im good fortune.
bird seller: but there's only enough for one bird
sikh man to richard gere: they say that if you set the birds free, it will bring you good luck.
girl: okay
sikh man to richard gere: more birds, more luck!
yeah. that's the advert. some rephrased and missing lines i guess. haaa. super funny.
now my sister's talking to herself. mad girl. it's high time she shuts up.
the people from my neighbour's funeral have been playing mahjong the whole night. extremely noisy ah!
my dog's super cute la. he now looks like a pup with his hair cut short. nice little boy :) and he likes smiling at me. haha.
i'm very hungry. had a slice of christmas fruit cake for supper and i'm still hungry. i want christmas pudding with ice cream!
cell christmas bbq on the 21 of dec. how exciting! FOGirls, please take note!
manymany things to do coming up. think i should go sleep now.
my sister is bouncing on her bed for no apparent reason. yet another reason to be called mad woman.
i really think i should go sleep now. yeah.
GOODNIGHT!

yay. the invites are finally done. and so long as she likes it, i'm happy. the whole process was a nightmare. the printing shop man was super siang. went there on monday to get it printed and the guy said that it'd be ready on thursday. so on thursday i happily took a one and a half hour bus ride from school and when i got there, the stupid guy said that he forgot to print it. !@#$%^&* so i demanded that he send it to church today. and he finally did, after being about 1 hour late. oh well. at least they beared the consequences of forgetting to print. guessed they worked round the clock to get the 1000 pieces printed and cut for us. haha. but i dont care cos it's none of my business and serves them right. blame it on their themselves for being so disorganised. oh well. it's over. but i sure hope they have learnt a lesson :)

what a cold and nice day
a day, not so bright and gay
i woke up early
to see the tips of my hair slightly curly
rush down to have breakfast
and drank milk to quench my thirst
rushed to the mrt station
and bought the standard trip ticket with utmost attention
travelled to city hall
where buildings stood majestic and tall
met sara
whose name sounds like clara?
haha
stared at the locality map
on singapore art museum we tap
headed towards the museum
definitely not the place to look for titanium
entrance is free!
so unlike a shopping spree
tried very hard to appreciate the exhibits
and of course not the tidbits!
who said we could bring them in?
not even if the floor was still clean
started on our project,
an exhibit we had to select
what it was we had to describe
and an idea we had to subscribe
we finally drew our conclusion
hope it was not an illusion
out of the museum we went
fortunately we dont need anyone's consent
and that was how i spent my cold and nice day
a day, not so bright and gay
actually i didnt spend the whole day at the museum la. went to the printing shop to get the drama invites printed and went for psychology tutorial. learnt about research methods. how boring. oh well.

today, for the 4th time this week, i missed 168. and no, it's not my fault that i missed. it's the cause of the screwed bus network. the FOURTH time in FIVE days. stupid. and today i stupidly took 39 instead of 168, thinking that it would reach tampines faster. and !@##$%% i was so wrong. the stupid bus turned to pasir ris dunno where and dunno where, and finally at 1145, it reached tamp ave 1. mind you, it's not anywhere tamp central YET. !@#$%^&*. i saw bus 8 in front of the bus i was in and decided to try to catch that bus. but the stupid bus driver refused to open the door so i couldnt get out, causing me to miss the bus, AGAIN. it's now 1205. so i decided to heck waiting for another bus and took cab instead. fortunately a cab came almost immediately and zoomed me off to school. thank God. reached school at 1212. 12 minutes late. 2nd time late this week :(
tmr my dad's coming back. he bought me a denim jacket :) but i still want a red/ blue adidas jacket. i've got this thing for jackets. heh.

HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY TO SARAH NG LILIN!
today has been quite an eventful day. left my house at 730 to go to school but was still late, and even despite my mum sending me to seletar air base bus stop. perhaps next time i should leave at 630. sigh. had my first lesson of darkroom process. ok la. cheeyong is a nice guy. but he always seems very cold. haaaha. then had digital essestials in the afternoon. my first lesson also. yongkin is nice also. but he reminds me if yuxuan. like the way he speaks and all. but just that my lecturer's taller la. heh. now i really really really need a laptop [preferably an apple powerbook] and adobe softwares! somebody please buy one for me!
had quite a nice evening of scheming for sarah's birthday. was pleased to see that she was super happy and high. good thing. that's all that matters :) never seen her that happy before. squealing in delight. the cake was nice. from awfully chocolate.
today one of my friends said that i looked sec 2. and my face doesnt suit my voice cos my voice sound mature. haha. quite out of point. maybe it's my hair. cos it's short and primary school like. maybe tomorrow i should attempt to use some spray gel to give it some nice look. maybe it's my dressing. tomorrow i'll try to wear something nice other than shorts and tshirt. hopefully i'll look older. haha.
two of them are so alike. is it supposed to be good?

just a thought..
guys these days are getting from bad to worse. everyday after school i'd alight at seletar camp tp take 86 home. and never has there once been a day when any of the guys from the army or working in seletar camp give way to me when boarding the bus. not me alone, but all the other ladies and aunties who're boarding the same bus as well. instead they squeeze to the front with their big and stinky bodies, hoping to be the first to board the bus. today i overheard one of the guys calling the squeezing 'zouk style'. !!!! yeah right. dont the army teach them how to be more gentlemanly? i guess maybe not la. sometimes i wonder why people say that the army make boys become men, when these things still happen. it's just not the singaporean culture for guys to give way to girls, to let girls cut their queue, to open doors for girls and even to let girls alight and board buses. maybe they think it's uncool or sissy to do such things. or maybe they have the 'if no one does it, why should i?' attitude. what has our society become?
sigh. with that, i shake my head in digust.

i'm getting very busy these days, with school starting in full force. school starting full force? with so many other things that we've to do at the end of the year. there's now no time for indolence. heh. is that supposed to be good? heh heh.
going to leave for school in one and a half hours. sigh. i'm in holiday mood now. and i think going to school on mondays and tuesdays are a waste of time for me now. i go to school for 2 hours on monday, and 3 hours on tues. but most of the time the tuesday class lecturer releases us after 1 and a half hours. that makes my travelling time twice the time i spend in school. shit man. tomorrow i'm suppposed to have q 5 hour long tutorial. but keejan releases us after 2 hours. what a waste of time yet again.
from this sem onwards, i must promise myself not to be late for school. in the first place, i hate to be late. in asia, it's a trend for lecture theatres to be filled from the back to the front. so if i'm late, it's super paiseh to walk down the isle to the front. 100 eyes would be on you. yea. so i musnt be late! in europe, it's different. lecture halls are normally filled from the front to the back.
this coming sat xinmin youth alumni's organising a kayaking expedition at fernvale. wonder if i should go. if i go, there's a high chance that i'd be late for cg, and besides, heidi cant make it. so no point already.
heidi and marya! where are you???
tralalaa. i'm feeling fit!

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

what a seh day. bathing with cold water doesnt make me any more relaxed. went to nus pgp in the morning to recce then place for yf camp in the morning, then went to cgl meeting in the afternoon. it was super long la! start at 2+ and ended at 6. but it was good talk. ps stanley shared about the goals and thousand and one other things. i was enlightened and reminded of my responsibilities, even i'm not even an acgl, let alone a cgl! accompanied sarah for dinner then when i was about to go home, coincidentally met with wj so we went to amk central to eat.
was talking to her about everything under the sun when it suddenly dawned upon me that i really really want or wished that i could have an older sister or brother. sigh. or maybe someone with whom i can really talk to, who would ask me how my day was, or just stay with me even if there's no meeting agenda. isnt it not too much to ask for? the bible says ask and it shall be given. is this too absurd a question to ask? everyday i go home feeling so tired and lonely, and yet i've to do so many things at home which doesnt make me feel any better. now i finally understand ps stanley's sermon. maybe i just shouldnt wallow in self pity cos i know i'll never have it. do i even deserve it? in fact i should thank God for providing me with a nice house and everything else He has provided. but still.. sigh. maybe this is just the way it is.

i just changed the colour of my blog. they're now all complimentary colours, meaning the colours opposite one another in the colour wheel. like yellow and purple, red and green, blue and orange. i used the complimentary colours of the three primary colours. of course monochromatic colours black and white are not in the colour wheel, but they're still opposites. heh.
what a unique blogskin aint it? simple yet arty! thanks to valentino chan, who was my colour teacher. indeed, colour is everywhere :)
maybe i should post some pictures soon. but first, i'd have to take pictures. right. time to charge my camera. and yes, i need a memory card for my cam. *hints* tralalala.
no school today. yongkin's not in school. i think i'll start doing my communicating design today although i havent started lesson proper yet. heard that the lecturer gave her tuesday class homework. and mine's on fri. she should give the same hw la.
i've decided that this sun, i'm going to tell her that i'm going to step down from the ministry and concentrate on the other. hope she doesnt haunt me!!
ahh.
i'm hungry. maybe i should eat what i ate for breakfast. ham and toast. alright. i better go snatch the last slice of black pepper ham now. bye!

we were that close to buying it. but i finally decided against the idea of buying my apple 15.1 inch G4 powerbook from the school labtop road show. the price dropped tremendously. just a few months ago it was $4000+. now it's $3688. but they're selling it in school for $3088. yes, $600 difference. as much as i really really want it, *hints! christmas is near* $3088 is still a hefty sum of money to pay you know. furthermore, the comp doesnt come with ms office and adobe softwares. it's $300 student price for ms office. but it come with 3 serial numbers, so 3 people can buy it. but adobe softwares are super ex. sickening. but i really want it!! i like powerbook's aluminium body. how cool. it's light and durable, yet scratch resistant. i also like ibook's white body. got syle. heh.
someone please buy it for me! maybe by may next year the price would fall even more. my birthday's on the 27th of may. just nice! apple 15.1 inch powerbook G4!
today has been a very sleepy day. was late for director's talk in the audi. so i sat right at the back and fell asleep. when it ended i quickly walked with them to norgan vaas for lunch. i didnt eat though. i fell asleep on the table. then had vsc proj 1 with keejan. it was okay la. gotten used to his lessons. he has his own idiosyncrasies, but was still okay la. there's something about him and his trash art. last sem he talked to my class about the same thing and showed us the exact same powerpoint slide. i fell asleep during the video on kurt schwitt, a german artist during the dada period. yes, it's called dada. keejan probably got influenced by him. bleah. today's lesson is supposed to be from 1 to 6. damn long la! but thankfully he let us go at around 3. i bet other lecturers realeased their classes earlier. i dunno why this stupid thing is 5 hours long. design peoples have short attention span. they better know it.
tonight we had a very healthy dinner of mince pork and mushroom porridge with steam fish and tofu. didnt feel that guilty despite eating icecream puff for dessert. and i had 4! stole one from my mum. haha!
yay. no school tmr. yongkin's at the design edge exhibition. yaayayayayayay! ask me out! wanted to meet marya and heidi, but they're busy. sigh. we're all busy people. it's okay. we're still the cheapos!

the second day of school. i wont say it was great. but at least i got a chance to catch up with eva and lizzie during lunch. had culture and expression lecture today. it was totally different from what i thought it was. it's about the behaviour, thinking etc in different cultures and context. quite interesting. i like! havent had such intellectual lectures for a long time. the last sem had been spent doing stupid out of point things la. heh. but this sem with psychology, c&e and communicating design, i'm going to have to think a lot more. and i'm going to need help. bleah. it's back to essays!
i wonder when i'm going to get my electives. it better be soon. the stupid cocked up system. sometimes i feel like slapping everyone in the office. such inefficient poks. technology fails. but God would never! loads of thanks to Him for taking me through the first 2 days of school. i couldnt make it on my own. yeah.
imagine a little freshmen going to a big school which seems so unfamiliar all alone. quite scary, if you think about it. although it's sem2, i still dunno much about the school culture, let alone what to do if your subjects dont turn up in your timetable! horrors of horrors.
fortunately quite a few of the people i know are in the same boat. at least we can do it together. thankfully:)
each step, by faith

my goodness. i'm starting school tomorrow. my first lesson on psychology. thank God that i've found a friend that's in the same class as me. miss meliza ho! now i dont have to look like a sua ku gundu walking from design school all the way to engineering school to go for lecture. my first lecture in my life. okay. this is the good news.
the bad news is that there seems to be a mistake in my time table. my two electives didnt show in my timetable. peoples, please help me pray that the whole process of enquiring and hoping to get a class would be a smooth one. dear God, please help me. amen.
with faith, i CAN move the mountains.

have been painting for 7 days now. tonight will be my eighth day. painted the children's church backdrop the whole of last week and yf drama backdrop yest and mon. would say that my painting skills have improved. thanks to the practice on the children's church canvas. thankfully i practiced drawing and painting the rose several times if not the drawing would be quite a nightmare. yest i started on the rose. kind of forgot how it looks. it definitely needs touching up. i've been endowed with a huge responsibility and i better not let her down. i know what kind of expectations they all have. i better do my best, not for them, but for Him.
i'm very proud of everyone who came to help with the painting. sarah, melly, shiling, and lilin. you guys did a great job man. i'm sure we all did it for a common Cause. yeah! having gone through the thinking process with sher and elaine, i definitely have learnt a whole lot from these talented people. yup.
what elaine said was so true. i too, believe that the whole thing would be a success. even at this early stage, we're all putting our heart and soul into it. (:
the fire's burning..
want to eat green eggs and ham?
