just read marya's blog, which made me miss everything we did in secondary school.
copied and pasted from marya's blog which summarises what i want to say:
'here i go all over again: i miss you. i miss heidi. i miss cassy. i miss cheapo gang. i miss the students' creed. i miss laughing at mr chee's tight pants. i miss jlo. i miss jlo's bitchings. i miss drooling over mr singh. i miss the malay stall auntie. i miss st john. i miss our aquarium classroom. i miss stealing food from fifi's plate. i miss ad. i miss kok. i miss socks. i miss going to compass point after school. i miss squeezing in 163/371 each and every morning. i miss bitching about mr tan. i miss laughing at mrs tan's 'alright okay.' i miss being punctual for every lesson. i miss rushing for pe to get there before 4e3. i miss mother. i miss all the dorothys. i miss burying all the dorothys. i miss running away/hiding from being caught as a latecomer. i miss the punch card. i miss the chocolate cookies. i miss slapping butts. i miss lifting skirts. i miss seeing my elder sister in school. i miss being naughty. i miss all the crazy things we did in secondary school. i miss Xinmin secondary school. really really.'
yes, marya i miss you and heidi too! but i dont miss st john. i miss track. and mind you, i DONT slap butts, lift skirts, and i was late only once in my 4 years in secondary school. i miss melon milk and papaya which moves bowels. i miss the malay stall auntie's kangkong and stingray. i miss PE! pe is the best. it's the healthiest subject. i miss mr tan's army stories and mrs lim's stories. i miss running to the canteen for lormee. i miss having a class too. poly's great and we've got lots of projects and stuff, but i miss being in a fixed class and seeing the same people everyday. i miss mugging for exams cos we've got no exams. seeing other people studying so hard for their exams makes me feel like studying also. but of course i prefer it this way la. heh. sigh. i really miss Xinmin too. sigh.
if you watched channel news asia, you might watch the director's chair show which is organised by my school and channel news asia. mrs low's definitely very proud of that. it's what a neighbourhood school like mine can achieve. people always think that such priviledges were meant for elite schools like ri or rgs. but it's not. and i'm proud of the fact. notice the caps i use for Xinmin and not ri and rgs. heh. in fact, i have come to a conclusion that the most hardworking teachers come from neighbourhood schools, in general. they are the ones who really take the initiative to make sure their students are doing alright and are well. also, because most of the students form neighbourhood schools come from medium to lower income groups, some cant afford to have tuition. so the teachers are always there for them. on the other hand, i see that many teachers from the more elite schools rely on the students' tuition teachers to help them in their school work, which is going at too fast a pace. sometimes i really wonder what the teachers in those school are doing and whether they deserve their pay. some treat the school's name as a brand so that when they quit the the ministry to give tuition, they can say that they once taught at that school. of course people would choose a tutor who taught in elite schools over those in neighbourhoods because people often relate high achieving students to great teachers.
where do find teachers who are willing to stay back in school till 8pm just for the sake of a few students? at least you'll find them at Xinmin Secondary School.
please note that this entry is written in a very one sided point of view. i do not care if you beg to differ.

HAPPY 15TH BIRTHDAY JOY! :) (: :) (:
I AM SO TIRED. i spent about 7 hours doing my A2 painting and just finished it. started at about 5 and it' s now12:15am. the time i spent doing it is 3 hours longer than the time i spent going to school, staying there and coming home. see how long i take. darn. and i'm super xiang. havent bathed since i came home at 3 and was drenched. heh. dont blame me if i forget to do things nowadays cos i'm very very busy. got to paint my 40 by 40cm chingay box my next tuesday. by the way if you dont know how big it is, imagine you're my height, sit down and measure the height from your thighs to your shoulder. it's about 40cm. and six sides. 40x40=1600. 1600x6=9600 cm square of surface area to paint in a span of less than one week. that's a lot, considering the fact that i still got to go to the darkroom to enlarge my 8 prints, do the 3 typo print outs for the mag cover and one final one, do my sketchbook, A2 size drawing, and visco self promo. that's a hell lot of work to do in one week. sigh. thank goodness marketing's over and creative thinking's group work. i must try to get A for everything, or at least for creative thinking, typo and photography and colour. i'm happy with a C for matketing. alrightss. i better be off to bathe now. bye.
SOMEBODY GIVE ME A MASSAGE.
SOMEBODY PLEASE VOLUNTEER TO GO TO ART FRIEND TO BUY ME MY PAINT.
I NEED ICE CREAM.
I NEED COMPANY.

last week i was listening to the music in my friend's mp3 player and found out that there's a song entitled Fingerprints of God by Steven Curtis Chapman. so here's it, dedicated to all girl zone members:)
I can see the tears filling Your eyes
And I know where they're coming from
They're coming from a heart that's broken in two
By what you don't see
The person in the mirror
Doesn't look like the magazine
Oh, but when I look at you it's clear to me that...
I can see the fingerprints of God
When I look at you
I can see the fingerprints of God
And I know it's true
You're a masterpiece
That all creation quietly applauds
And you're covered with the fingerprints of God
Never has there been and never again
Will there be another you
Fashioned by God's hand
And perfectly planned
To be just who you are
And what He's been creating
Since the first beat of your heart
Is a living breathing priceless work of art and...
Just look at you
You're a wonder in the making
Oh, and God's not through, no
In fact, He's just getting started and... [back to chorus]
yup. here's it. love you all!

these few days i've been thinking about many stupid things. here's one of them. imagine one of the member of the al quaeda is called terry. so when he introduces himself, he'd say 'hi! i'm Terry the terrorist'. haha. isn't it funny. a scissor that belongs to caesar would say 'hi! i'm caesar's scissors'. heh heh.
i'm pleased today. i decided to show khengli all my contact prints. i did six of them. initially i thought we were supposed to do 8-10 prints. but that's if we're doing colour slides. so now you know that i dont pay attention in class. haha. but anyway, i was saying that i showed him all. and thank God he liked my pictures. thank God cos it was quite a gamble. i didnt show him my proposal and took 6 rolls all in one day. whew! if he didnt approve of it i would have wasted 6x$4.50 worth of film. go calculate how much that is. plus that two rolls i wasted on taking the wrong topic. thank God now i dont have to go back to shoot. just choose my pics and do enlargements. hope i can get an A to make up for my previous C, so that i can get a B. sigh. but for now, at least i dont have to go process film again for a long time:) just enlargements.
okay. i better go. i've got an A3 cartoon drawing with colour, and about 60 sketches for the chingay thing. oh yes. next year's chingay would be on the 4th of feb. people from temasek design school would paint on 40cm by 40cm cubes, which would be displayed along orchard road. look out for mine!!! remember: 4th february 2006. i shall remind you again. it's next year and i bet you'd forget.

the past few days have been quite eventful for me. and i'm quite pleased. ::::))))))) i finally have the time to sit at the comp to blog. see how busy i have been.
it all started on friday. friday was ccn day so all class after 12 noon were cancelled. yay! so went school at around 12 plus and eva and i walked around to other school as well. didnt manage to see tim han around. cos on sat i learnt that he went to play pool instead of mending his stall. also didnt manage to see any xm people. cos they're all lazy like me. i dont have a stall too. xm people are always busy studying! yups. i left soon after to meet sher for dinner. i was smart enough to guess that she worked in the library there so i decided to go find her. hmm.. went bugis for dinner. then walked around then decided to go arcade. we played time crisis. the shooting game. i was pretty lousy. dropped out after the first round. sher was more skilled. managed to go on to level 2 and a bit of level 3. not bad. next we went to objectifs. it's the photography place where she learnt the skill i think. her pics were exhibited there before. it's at liang seah street. saw several photos that wre up on display. according to sher they were quite disappointing. ok lar. i havent really developed a preference towards photographs yet. i'm just an amateur. then continued walking around and went to this super girly shop called lovelyland. you can actually telll by the shop's name. lovelyland!!! what kind of name is this. yucks. haha. yucks. i wont buy anything else besides the tigger keychain and the stuffed giraffe. heh. we walked and walked and talked and talked. saw alicia zhuang also. but she didnt see us cos we had to go to the loo urgently. oh and the toilets there are badly designed. lousy.. actually wanted to watch charlie and the chocolate factory but it was too late. it started at 950. she went to meet ll at bishan and i went home. it was a good day. my first ccn day. and we had a good talk. at least in my opinion.
saturday morning started off terribly. it was sad, but i'm glad it's all over. yeah. went to city hall to buy lens for my cam but it was too ex. decided not to buy. since i was early i went to the national library to explore. it had 3/4 levels of reference books. b1 was the central lending library. i wont say the lending library has a lot of books, but the reference library's good. the lending library also doesnt really have a good range of design books. tp library has more. but the book drop system's quite cool. saw sher standing at the bookdrop making sure the people did it correctly. now i understand why she says her job is boring and tiring. but the bookdrop's cool cos there's screen above the slot to drop the books. you can see the books drops on the tray and sliding away. heh. some people unfortunately dunno how to read instructions. the bookdrop showed 'please wait', but these stupid people still slot their books into the machine, causing the books to drop on the floor and inconveniencing the librarians. sigh. some people..
then there was fop in the evening. on the whole it was great. i always wished such events could go on forever. it was powerful. delirious? songs were great. great and meaningful lyrics as well. maybe we should sing delirious?'s songs more often. however maybe the older folks wont really appreciate it cos they's think that it's too rock-style like. and delirious? doesnt have much publicity either. the speaker collin dye was superb. he was like so sincere and captivating. his testimony was really awesome. God does wonders, even to transvestites. i dunno why, but i liked the second half of the night better. probably cos i was still a little distracted during the first half. was thinking of how significant i am as compared to the great I AM. after colin dye shared, everything seemed more real. the last song was my favourite. the delirious? lead singer sang something like a medley. hillsong's majesty and another song. cant remember how to sing it. but it really spoke to me. it was good. MAJESTY is a superb song. my favourite in the united album. indeed a powerful night. i so love it. so what's my revelation?
oh and i saw miss tan and her bf in the queue to go into the stadium. actually she saw me first and waved before i noticed her cos i was busy talking to bernie. no wonder she didnt bring heis. and she cut my queue!!! heh heh. but it's okay la. i dont really care anyway. and i saw sabrina. she was as blur as ever. haha. she's so cute and funny.. hahah. SATURDAY WAS GREAT!
thanks sher for your concern. thanks for being there and for being you (: :)
sunday i didnt go for service. sorry guys! instead i went to nsrcc to take pictures for my proj. okay, i didnt go sailing. i was on the powerboat. managed to get some tan. but not that nice cos i was in the shade most of the time. took 6 rolls in total. yeaps.
yesterday i ended my first class at 12noon. so i was free till 430. so i decided to go to the library to make a new card, borrow books and visit sher. found some advertising design books which were quite good for my visco. and so of course i borrowed them. saw mingli in the library too!. the new library card cost $5. and heidi still owes me library fines. it has amounted to $4.80. haha. heidi you reading this? i left at around 345. was outside bugis junction when i saw MARYA! MARYA MARYA MARYA MARYA!!! we were so excited that we didnt know we standing right in the middle of the road towards the carpark. so i had to pull her to the side. just at 8+ that morning she said that she couldnt join me for lunch cos she was going out with her friend and at about 355 i saw marya. marya i miss you so much. my goodness. thank God for sending her to cheer my day. then i continued walking to the mrt station cos i had to go to school. at the bend that leads to the control station, i saw JOY AND SERENA. my goodness. are these coincidences or what? how could it be that i saw the people that i really needed and wanted to see that day? how could it be? though we didnt talk much, it was good enough just seeing them. i didnt ask it, but i thank God for them. yay. thank God.
happy national day peeps!

my goodness i just realised that the wallet i lost is the cheapo gang wallet. i'm sorry heidi, marya, jacq and hawa. sorry!!!!! my goodness. now i dont have a wallet. someone buy me one? pleeeasee? hee. at least i can get back the refund for my ez link card back. not that bad. the people in the tampines sms office dont seem to know what to do about lost wallets. all they know is that we're supposed to write our contacts in the log book. still dare to call it 'information office'. so i had to walk all the way to the other end of the bus interchange to ask the person in the top-up-card counter. at least she was more knowledgeable and gave me a card with a number to call. bleah.
yay tomorrow is ccn day. which means we dont have to go to school if we dont want to. but since the school gave us a free $2 coupon for us to spend i should jolly well spend it :) after all it's free!
