rajaratnam has died. last night i was watching a show on him on channel news asia, where they spoke to people like lee kuan yew, prof tommy koh, sr nathan etc about his life. rajaratnam believed in an anti-racial society, not a mulit-racial society. meaning to say that singaporeans do not come together as chinese or indians or malays, but as one nationality. hmm. that's something to think about. he was the one who drafted the pledge which we say every morning in our schools and once a year during the national day parade. the flags in all government buildings would be flown at half mast.
actually last night was the first or second time i've heard of him. hahahaa. think he was some law minister last time, which is why he got to draft the pledge. the ironic thing is that he was born in sri lanka and studied in england. he came to singapore when singapore was still under colonial rule. means he wasnt a true blue singaporean!! unlike me!! hahhaa.
