today i dont have to go to school. but that doesnt necessarily mean it's a good thing. i've got loads to do. three assignments for two subjects and consultation is on tues and wed and thurs and i dont know where or which asdignment to start with. what's worse is that when i woke up to the sound of drilling and welding this morning, everyone's gone! leaving me home alone in this house, with my maid, and some smelly and dusty workers who're here to do the gate. sigh! and those who woke up earlier didnt leave breakfast for me! means i had to dig out some food to eat. i made myself milo coffee bing and steamed pao. very nice! after eating i rolled the pao skin into tiny balls. gross but fun. i decided to go online to see if there's anyone whom i can talk to. i cant stand not talking to anyone in the morning to kick start my day! hmpf. anyway, there wasnt many people online either. they're either studying for mid years/block tests/common tests or in school celebrating youth day. and s has gone for hsc. so no one to talk to in the morning. no one to meet for lunch and hangout! thankfully itjc came online. that's satisfactory already. i'm still hoping i can meet somebody for lunch though. but looks like there's no hope. heh. seems like more digging of food.
i've been calculation my finances. if i were to go to a faraway place next year, which is quite likely, and if i were to buy my dslr this year, which is even more likely, i'm going to be so poor. the monies in my bank account are my savings and angpao money that doesnt amount to much. in primary school, saving up to 50 bucks seem like a lot cos i only got $1.20 a day. i really scrimped and saved, treating myself to 30 cents red bean ice cream on days which i have to stay back. in secondary school i got 3 bucks a day, which is just enough for my existence. so not much savings. now is even worse. i dont get fixed pocket money. and i buy materials more than i eat. so i end up bringing food to school so that i can use the money to buy my materials. still, there're days which i have only 60 cents left in my wallet for the whole week! hahahahhah! that's not even enough for me to take bus home. ahhhhh! maybe i should go to cheaper places like nepal or peru or chile, where it's still nice, can take pictures and cheaper as compared to going to europe or america. just the airfare to these places cost almost 2k. and no budget airlines go to these places. and the exchange rate horrendous. 1 SGD is almost 46 euro cents, or whatever you call it. in america, going to the grand canyon from las vegas costs about 400sgd. that's super ex la. sigh.
yesterday i was watching rhapsody in blue when an idea struck me. you might be a little shocked, but i've always wanted to work in the prisons department. maybe in the womens prison. it always saddens me when i hear about a woman sentenced to imprisonment for smoe stupid things they did and i want to help them turn over a new leaf. but i dont really care if guys go to jail. hahahahahah! okay i'm biased. anyway i thought of this for very long already, like eben when i was in secondary school. i dunno but it's a little odd if after i graduate from tp, i go on to do social work. so perhaps i could go into the design industry then volunteer to do some things in the prisons department. like teach some art things if they have such programmes. or maybe i can work in the prison as a counsellor and teach them art skills and do design freelance. i dont mind doing either one of them. and working prisons department is a ministry in itself. :) maybe i shall ask ah hoon jie more about working in a prison. it's really something i want to do!

my goodness. i cant believe i'm so blur! yesterday i thought my digital imaging class was at 3pm so at 130pm i was still at home. actually it starts at 12. today i stayed back for half and hour cos i thought that french lecture was at 6. actually there isnt evening french lecture on wednesdays. hmpf. someone just slap me now. aaarrggghhhh.
anyway i went to bedok reservoir park for a half an hour walk all alone. how nice. and took pics too! but the pics arent that nice cos i forgot to set the ISO back to the usual 400. it was at 1600 which is used last night to take some shots in my room at night. so the pics appear brighter than usual.

today i met her for 3 hours. as usual it was great. but this time round what she said made me think about a lot of things. a lot a lot of things, and one main very very important thing, which i think is not the time to write here yet. ya but the time comes, you'll know.

but sometimes what people expect of me is a whole lot higher than what i expect of myself. sometimes i feel that it's easier to do things becasue you're expected to do it rather than doing it because you expect yourself to do it. maybe i just lack in confidence. i must dare and be bold enough to make mistakes. i must believe in what i'm doing and not be afraid of what others say, but at the same time know when to listen to others. i musnt be to comfortable doing the same things over and over again. i musnt be afraid to try. i must breathe in, and step out of the box. most importantly, i musnt rely on my own strength. i must learn to be weak, so He can be strong.

i was thinking of joining an older cell group. i want to be in a more mature environment, somewhere where they can be an example for me to follow, where they know what they doing and where they're going. they must be moving forward, and they must a continuous process of seeking and expecting. they must have a vision. there cannot be politics cos it defeats the purpose of being in a cg. i'm still in the process of thinking about it and deciding on what i want and which one i should join. everything rises and falls on leadership, so it's important that i choose the right one. but there arent many choices though, the most 4. of course there's no perfect cg. we shall see la. i'll probably try to attend one session of each cg to have a look. hope i dont feel awkward with all the older people.
anyway, here's the toilet bowl that i made! my first ever ceramics piece :)

yay! isnt it nice? thanks to miss khng for helping me to glaze and fire it. thankfully the two glazes mix quite well together. think she used green crackle glaze for the insides of the bowl. nice! yay!

actually i've got many things to say today but i'm too tired and lazy to type everything here. and it's better to not write some of the stuff here. not so good la. just give me a call if you want to ask :)
now i shall show you the events that happened today pictorally :
from left: grace, me and serena. we've come to a conclusion that folding up on side of your jeans is cool and fashionable.
that's chaoyuan and caleb jumping for the ball. had captains ball after service with the yf. probably my best shot of the day. the other shots are just shitty so i shant show them.
after captain's ball, we had a catered lunch. it was free! yay.
after captains ball weijin and i decided that we were too sian to go home so we decided to go to j8 to slack or do things. melly came too!! :) we ended up in coffee bean where i had my most horrible chocolate ice blended. i cleverly added nutmeg powder into my ice blended apart from the chocolate and vanilla powder which i added in excess. nutmeg is horribly disgusting. it's gingerly and peppery. imagine it being added to your nice chocolate ice blended. yucks.. blauuhghhhghh. so you see, you have a price to pay for being greedy. hahah.

i smell like 5 different types of adidas perfumes. was bored at robinsons so i decided to test the perfumes.
i want to go for a holiday. somewhere over the hillls and far away. but not where teletubbies come to play. somewhere in europe, perhaps.
the above means i've got to work very very hard. me needs sources of income!!
in france, people under 26 or over 60 get a 10% discount off bus rides. this means i qualify!!
i want to visit bordeaux [where they make bordeaux wine] and normandy [ where monet painted rocks and coast], cathedrals and museums..
it'll be next year.. when i have more money. heh

yay. my dad bought my bathroom a new shower head and i'm the first one who used it. hahah. spent an extra five minutes after bathing playing with the different adjustments on the shower heads which gives different output modes of water. so fun. heh
this morning someone kept saying that 933FM is a nice radio channel. and they djs are good and now i keep listening to it. before today i never listened to radio at all. not even english stations. the most only class 95 or 90.5 in my dad's car. i guess listening to this chinese station is a good start in a bid to improve my chinese. it's been about 2 years since i graduated from secondary school and so far, i havent had any contact with my mother tongue. and it's getting increasingly difficult communicating with my counterparts from china in school. so yeah. 933 is the way to go, even though i dont know and dont understand 99% of the songs they play, i'll still at least try to listen. i'm becoming cheena! marya's gonna laugh at me. ahahah.
yay. going to sesame street at downtown east tomorrow!!! after my proj submission..that is. ):

yay. i'm quite happy. aa and ps sam liked the corporate 5612 logo that i did. yay!! ::)) and they even asked me to send them the numbers seperately to represent the 5 different purposes. yeaps.
organised the 5612 people to do the banner thing. thankfully i've got organisational skills experience from splashwurks. splashwurks is good!! art is good too! during sermon today rolad was saying something about this man/woman called jacky/jackie. then after that jop kept saying the name jacky over and over again. and he was sitting behind me and joy. quite funny.
in the afternnoon went with mel to get melville the moose. melville is soo cute!! i love mooses.hah. and i want to buy myself to buy a birthday gift but i didnt bring enough money. only $18 excluding the $1 cash deposit i'd get back after i return the standard ticket. anyway i can get it some other time. all i need is my atm card and free time, and someone to go buy it with me. :) any volunteers?

did word today. i think i was so nervous that i spoke too fast. faster than bullet train. i was really really very nervous that i couldnt think straight during the pre cell. anyway i hope i got the point across clearly. sigh. pj said it takes practice. guess it really does.
this evening my mom had friends over for dinner. my cousin and her kids came too. this is the first time i really talk to her and the kids. they're quite cute. i was burning this small little grape over the candle until it turned black when theron said 'maybe that's how blackberries came about'. hahah. :):)
i kind of miss teaching. i quite like it. and i like talking to the kids. but them calling me 'cher!' or miss cassandra kind of makes me sound and feel old. ahaha. some kids dont believe i'm 18 this year. they all think i'm 14 or 15. but kids are usually quite lousy at gauging people's age. heh.
i think i've lost some weight after not eating properly the whole week. a day's meal is usually one bowl of fish porridge for lunch and half bowl of rice and soup for dinner. but this diet is no good cos it's not nutritious at all. have been quite giddy the past few days. but it's getting better already. today one of the stitches came off. thankfully it came off when i was in the car and i was not eating anything. and it didnt hurt and there was no blood. whew. :)

i cut my hair today. :) but i cut my fringe a little too short. so dont laugh at me. hahhaha! but it's grow back in a few weeks. anyway i save money by cutting hair myself. why pay money to people for doing things when you can do them yourself!! this way, you dont have to explain to the hairstylist what kind of hairstyle you want. you can just cut freely your way.yay. save money!
when to have a look at the new 5612 chapel today.it's quite nice, complete with a stage, projector, white wall as the screen and it has a 42 inch plasma tv for those who cant see the stage from the back. and the new chapel would be linked to the main sanctuary and the original chapel for occasions like christmas etc. quite skill! and cool. i did the new logo. hope aa and ps sam approves of it cos i think it's quite nice. hhaah. i seldom praise myself! i love adobe illustrator :)
i'm kind of feeling a bit weird now. feeling weak cos havent been eating well the past week. and my heart's beating very fast. dunno if it's cos of the cafeine from my tehping or cos i'm doing word tomorrow. my heart's beating so fast, i dunno if i'm excited or nervous. but the main feeling is that i'm feeling weak. rrgghhh. it's really quite difficult to eat :( hope this doesnt go on for the next 6 weeks, the estimated time taken for the wound to heal. there's two wounds. one is at the roof of my mouth where they cut the gum out. i taste blood once in a while and that area feels a little rough. the other is the stitching part. there also seems to be a slight swell at that area. goodness. agghhh.
they changed my dental time to monday morning. but i guess i still wont go for 4e6class gathering on monday. my mouth is going to hurt and i'm not going to enjoy myself. so no point going. i should stop wallowing in self pity.
if you like graphic design, mono chromatic colours and animation, you'd love the havaianas website.http://www.havaianas.com.br/# or http://www.havaianasus.com/. i love their colour scheme and animation. but just that the song gets irritating after awhile. wonder how much they paid their designer to do such things. it's very very nice. i can never do such a thing in my life. wish i could. :):):)

yayye! after 14 years of driving her old honda conceto, my mom finally finally bought new car today. it's a toyota vios. it's quite a small car. hopefully there's ample leg space!!! going to learn driving so i get to drive it soon. yayye. hope the car comes soon. yayye!!! i think she has to scrap her old car cos it's very noisy and rattles, and when it rains, water seeps into the boot. hahah. yayye!

today has been a hungry day. i only ate 2 paos and one bowl of tang hoon soup. reason is cos i dont dare to eat anything!! i keep thinking that the piece of gum that they stitched came off, especially when i ate tanghoon, which has the similar texture to that of a loose piece of gum. maybe i might even swallow that piece of gum. scare myself only. hmpff. and i spent 20 minutes eating 1 bao. had to pluck out small pieces and eat them with my head tilted so that food wont move to the right side. sigh.. struggle. eating has become a chore now. no longer a joy :(
oh yes. thank goodness i read my tp email today. or i would have forgotten to do my powerpoint presentation on woody pirtle!!! goodness. how could i forget such an important thing!!! anyway i managed to finish it on time to go to school. i think i did quite okay for the presentation, sufficient info and all. thankfully.

was thinking of one of my friends and sometimes i wonder why some people seem to live an almost perfect life. they look good, they dont have to go for gum grafting! they have money, get good grades, they have skills, they have so many friends who care for them, remember their birthdays, and have almost every other thing they ever needed in this world. everything they want is given to them so readily and they dont have to ask for anything more. it's hard not to be envious of them. so why does God provide some people more than He gives others? i'm not sure if that's a correct question to ask. i definitely dont have all of the above. maybe jus a little. very little. but i know of people who have. anyway, let's not talk about others, but ourselves. since life is a test/trial, i guess this is probably part of the test. God wants to see what our hearts are truely after. let's face it. we're humans and we live in a secular world. naturally our hearts would hunger for things like money, the perfect boy/girlfriends, new devices, the perfect body and the list goes on. God's gracious enough by giving us the chance to choose what we really want. and choices make or break a person. therefore we have to be aligned with Him and provision is a certainty. promise come through faith that might be according to grace. so, we should trust the Provider and not the provision, for He is jehovah jireh.
i've got a choice to make. what's yours?
i dunno why i typed what i just typed. just suddenly felt so strongly about it that i've got to write it down.

back from penang. will post more about the trip soon together with some pics.
anyway, this morning i went to ndc for my gum graft surgery. it's cos the bottom right side of my mouth has very thin gums, hence the need to graft gums from the roof of my mouth. they injected anesthesia twice so the entire left side of my mouth went numb. i didnt even know they started the surgery. i thought they were still fiddling with the tools. although i couldt feel what was going on, i could hear them scrapping things and hear the knife cut the small piece of gum tissue from the roof of my mouth. then the dentist held up a small piece of my gum on top of me with his twizzers. a loose piece of gum looks like a piece of chicken meat. bloody red and slightly translucent when seen over light. he cut out a triangular piece of my gum. now i can feel the slight recession on the roof of my mouth where he cut the piece out. thank God it didnt bleed at all. after cutting the gum out, he stitched it at the bottom where the gum is thin. saw the string going in and out of my mouth. haha. if you see me before next monday, i can show it to you! i hope they did a great job and the gum would fuse in nicely and new gum would grow back at the roof of my mouth. i dont want to go through this again, although this is not the first time i go through such procedure. i have such a complicated mouth. sigh. and it's always i, out of all people, who has to go through pain just to get things right. sigh.. the dentist says it takes about 6 weeks to heal. that's a long time. eating is a struggle. i can only chew on my left side. i cant eat hot food or hard food. but this is good so that i can loose weight after eating like a pig in penang. ate 4 scoops of icecream for 3 consecutive days. fats galore. i also cant brush that area for about 2 weeks. so he gave me this mouth wash which i have to dip cotton wool into and then use it to clean my teeth. trubble. and i'm supposed to be gentle. alamak.
i hope my mouth heals quickly before sat cos i'm doing word. and the last thing i want is for my mouth to hurt. arrgghh. anyway, i'm kind of excited to do word this week!! i dunno why. heh.

miss cassandra needs to cut hair. not sure if i should go to a hair dresser or not leh.. any recommendations? i want cheap and good. like maybe 8 bucks. i dont have much hair to cut anyway.

i was 15 mins late for my class today. but it wasnt my fault cos i missed two buses. and i think bus drivers should STOP CHATTING WITH OTHER FELLOW BUS DRIVERS ON THE BUS AND DRIVE MORE QUICKLY. really hate it when you're in a rush to go somewhere and bus drivers can just stop at a bus stop for 30 secs to talk to his friend, or talk to another fellow bus driver who's on board. today this driver in 168 still had time to throw a cigarette to another driver on the road. he wasted 3 secs of my time. if bus drivers didnt talk to one another on the road, the waiting time for buses would be lesser. stupid bus drivers. hmpf.
today's evening sky was super nice!!! it was light reddish purple, light bluish purple, white, slightly greyish and with bright orange and pinkish highlights. damn nice. like many layers of colours overlapping, and some blending to perfection. whoa. surely there must be a Greater and Mightier Being who made all these. :):) i stood amazed at what He made. yay. you should look at the sky more often too!

if i were to describe how today had been, it'll be another round of mindless ramblings. okay. heck. i shall start. reached church at 7am cos my mom had to do the prep thing. so i went to the children's chapel to have a short silly session of jamming with the guit and drums and keyboard with serena. we played itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikini. i played guit and serena played drums, and serena played keyboard and i played drums. so fun. yay. i love to jam silly songs like this. i feel very accomplished by learning how to play that strumming and slapping beat from sher just by listening to it twice. -grins- yay. learning new things is good. but sometimes i just cant get some strumming patterns. guit is another non left hander friendly instrument althought you can change the strings and make it a left hander guit. but will be quite struggle. hmpf.
for the first time i didnt quite enjoy wship led by leek. maybe it was the song selection. there were two new songs. i thought the rule was that only 1 new song is allowed per session. or maybe it was just me la. was really quite tired. slept at 2 and woke up at 6am. i think the word today was okay only. and had a slight headache at the right side of my head. the usual spot. sigh. after that we had cg lunch at thomson kfc. i totally detest that place. i dont like fast food cos it's super oily and fattening. thankfully we had steamboat for dinnner tonight. steamboat is the best thing to eat in the world. it's not fattening and nice to eat. after lunch, sarah, mel weijin and i went to bugis cos sarah wanted to get stuff. we should never go to bugis on a sunday afternoon. i hate crowds and it's definitely a no no place to go if you're claustrophobic. though i'm not claustrophobic, i cant stand brushing against people, especially smelly boys, or even brushing against things. i got a zero for physical touch in mylove language questionaire. you see why. that basically sums up my day outside.
i mentioned that my 1st or E guitar string snapped while my sis helped me to bring it over. i'm still a bt pissed with it. it caused a frenzy before cg yesterday. they were desperately trying to get a replacement guit. so in the end sarah managed to get celest's guit which was severely out of tune. quite funny. so had to tune her guit according to the 6th string of my guit. struggle trouble. and the fact that cell group was supposed to start already didnt help. kancheong spider was leading and i was playing for her, which made me even more kancheong. thankfully even though we didnt really practice much, it was quite smooth. yaye.
this coming week's going to be busy. have to pon 2 days of school cos going to penang. i really hope and pray that the teacher wont teach much during the two days of my absence. really. i'm a bit worried. sigh..
i'm missing my dog. rrgghhhheeeuurrrrr. :(
think im meeting marya and heis tomorrow to go out. yaye. :) love you aunties! my birthday present......

i'm finally able to sit in front of the comp with no one around to disturb and type this entry. whew. it's a been a tiring week, especially yesterday and today. hmpf. yesterday i met miss sher early in the morning to have brekkie then go to crescent girls to to some repair work for their mural installation thingy. crescent girls is at an extremely far place. at red hill mrt which is in fact pink. hahaa. we had to clean off the top layer of oil based laquer cos i think it was the wrong varnish or something. anyway it was a day full of struggles cos thinner is a very corrosive substance and even after wearing 4 layers of gloves, our fingers were still extremely painful. thinner corrodes plastic! so imagine what it does to our hands! that was one struggle. the other struggle is that we couldnt seem to find the good and fast and effective way to get the varnish out without removing the top layer of paint. hmpf. in the afternoon we were so pekchek that we decided to call hj and were asked to go to homefix at ikea to ask for a solution. initially we thought ikea was just a short walk from the school and we alked two bus stops. it was super hot so we juist decided that taking a bus would be a better idea. and it turned out that it was actuallt quite far away. the homefix guy there said that thinner was the only solution. hmpfff. so no choice lor. it was just so struggleful for us. and the whole day we inhaled evaporated thinner and were giddy from standing and squating many times.
thankfully miss sher and i could struggle together, which is better than her struggling herself or i myself. after ji zu-ing for almost half a day we managed to get some of the stuff out and touched up. and miss elaine and i thought the touch up we did was nicer than the original. yayyyee!! at least miss sher and my efforts were not wasted. it still turned out quite nice. yay!
after it was over, miss e, miss sher and i went to the market hawker nearby for a drink. then there apparently seemed to have a fight behind the row of shops we were sitting. i dont quite knnow what happened but i'm sure i heard slapping ro beating noises. then miss sher and i moved to the side to kaypoh. there was this woman, 30-40 years old, sitting on the floor crying and trembling at the same time. it was quite scary and we didnt dare help cos the woman was quite big sized. like 3 times of me. and she was quite violent. so we decided to not help. she so poor thing. i dont think she's of sound mind. probably with down's syndrome or just some mental illness. not person in the right mind would sit on the floor in a hawker centrre and wail like a kid. poor woman. sigh..
this morning miss sher and i again met up and went to evergreen primary school. decided to tag along with miss e and mr k to this faraway place called dragon kiln. it's a place where they used to make pots and fire them. and the shifu of making pots there is super skill. i am awed. was quite an interesting trip, i would say.
the rest of the day was just a mad rush to church and doing all the things so last minute. sigh. there wasnt even time for my heart to beat. haiya. ended up playing for wship and i dunno how my sis transported my guitar until a string snapped. was quite pissed. and she didnt even bother to bring it home for me. damn.
anyway the good thing about today is that i got a new cookie from my sheeps. and i happened to wear my cookie shirt. hahaaa. double cookie! yay. thanks sheeps!!! love ya!

yay!! i made a new blogskin in 1 hour. yayye!! yipee! i like this new skin. so toilety.. drew the template then scanned it into the comp. no photoshopping whatsoever. nice and simple and good :):) i like! and my company is now called coookieeeproducktions. with a cookie with one bite out of it as the logo as the C in coookieee. yeaps. how exciting.
