right now, i feel really really really glad that i did not choose to go to a jc. it was a tough choice between going to a jc or poly. but thankfully i secured a place in temasek design during the direct school admission even before the o level results were out and that help in the decision making. i remember it was such a tough decision that i asked my maid to help me draw lots and i kept getting jc. haha. i cant imagine myself now sitting at my desk, like i did two years ago for my o levels, mugging like a mad idiot for south east asian and international history, econs, gp et cetera. i cant imagine going for tuition again. i hate tuition and quit tuition four months before my o levels. i cant imagine struggling to remember cheng yus for chinese and always failing the paper. i cant imagine myself feeling pekchek again cos i cant remember or dont understand concepts.
right now i can forget about all the mock exams, pre prelims, prelims and what nots. i get flexible time table which enables me to plan when i want my school holidays although right now is a bit screwed up. bleah. because we dont need to attend non productive things like morning assembly, pastoral care etc, we only go to school at the timeslots where we have lessons, which leaves us time to do more productive things like having a part time job. we get to do fun things like painting real murals, rather than painting your worksheets with your blood. so now, you not only learn skills that allows you to work immediately after graduation, you get on the job training as well :) that's learning more in the same period of time. you'll definitely have more to write in your resume. and yes, you get to be more financially independent, and get more disposable income. we also get more school holidays, although they dont always coincide with the normal pri and sec school holidays. but this way, we can go for holidays during off peak periods which would be cheaper.
so ya. i'm glad i didnt go to a jc. there's definitely more to being a 17 /18 year old than mugging, mugging and more mugging.
today we went to jalan kayu for dinner and then went to sinflora. i got drenched while walking from the bus stop to my house. :) i love being drenched. haha. and my newly washed old dirty green diesel bag got dirty with rain water. hah.
i feel like going to somewhere cheap this year, like vietnam or cambodia. columbia? not sure if hongkong is cheap though. heh.
i cant wait for friday to come! :)
